The village of Mauprevoir (2 kilometres) has a small but well stocked supermarket with a butchery counter. There is also a boulangerie, pharmacy, bar & post office, thus providing most day to day needs.
Civray (15 kilometres) is the nearest large town, with a good range of shops, both traditional in the town centre, and out of town supermarkets etc.
Poitiers, an old medieval city and the capital of the region has, as you would expect, just about everything you could require. There are various markets not too far away, a few of them are as follows:
Civray- Tuesdays & Fridays
Gencay- 2nd & Last Thursdays & Saturdays
Poitiers- Every day except Monday
Confolens- Wednesdays & Saturdays
Ruffec- Wednesdays & Saturdays
L’Isle Jourdain- Saturdays, Wednesdays, Fridays
Charroux- Thursdays
